September 26, Headmaster Email

Good afternoon,

Schedule Change for grades 7-9:

We will be moving to a new weekly schedule in October. All school days on the calendar would stay the same, but the timeframes and patterns for each day will be adjusted.

The main reasons for these changes are improving classroom subject and work blocks, reducing volunteer requirements, building utilization, and moving back to half-day Fridays for everyone.

Two main changes:

1. Lunch break will no longer be staggered and will start at noon for everyone.

2. All grades will have a half day on Friday.

I am currently researching the requirements for group three schools and will send more updates if required. If you have any thoughts or concerns, please let me know.

Long Weekend:

I pray this finds you doing well. Remember that there is no school on Thursday as the teachers have Professional Development Day and Friday is Truth and Reconciliation Day. As Christians, we know that God holds parents responsible for the education of the children He gives them. Neither government nor schools should supplant the God-given parental sphere of authority in education or other areas. I pray that you have a wonderful long weekend with your families!

Policy & Protection Training:

A reminder that our annual children & youth protection policy training is on Thursday, September 29, from 1-2 PM. We are required by our insurance to review this policy annually with you, so if you are planning to do any volunteering this year, please attend.

Hot Lunch

We will be sending home a hot lunch order form. These need to be filled out and returned with payment by October 3.

Needs:

We are currently in need of some more soccer balls. If anyone has soccer balls they are not using and would be willing to donate to the school, please drop them off to Mr. Carmichael or myself.

In Christ,

James Casson
