September 13, Headmaster Email
Dear FBCA Community,
Welcome to our first full week! I pray you had a restful weekend and are ready as we dive in! Here's a few things to note:
In order to have defective t-shirts replaced, they must be returned to the school no later than drop-off tomorrow. If you have not already done so, please wash & dry yours tonight to determine if it needs to be replaced
Grades 4-8 are to change clothes for PE (see uniform guide) and all students are asked to bring runners on their PE days, as follows:
Tuesday: Mrs. Stanley & Mr. Campbell
Thursday: Miss Ilic & Miss McAndrew
Your children have brought home flyers for the Scholastic book sale. Please read the attached letter from Mrs. Stanley. In particular, note that this is an independent company and as such we have no oversight over the books or items for sale. Please approach this with the same parental guidance as you would purchases from any other non-Christian bookstore.
Policy & Protection Training:
FBCA is required by our insurance to annually train all staff and volunteers in our children & youth protection policy. If you plan to volunteer or work with students this year, please make arrangements to attend this Friday from 1-2 PM. (This is the same policy for the church as well, so counts for both.). If you are unable to attend, please let me know and we will make alternative arrangements. Note: this does include sensitive topics of signs of child abuse and as such some individuals prefer to read this portion privately. If that's the case, let me know and I will provide you the materials.
Be sure your calendars include no school on September 24 (Professional Development) and September 30 (Truth & Reconciliation Day).
