May 18, Headmaster Email

Hello Parents,
Thank you all for your kind wishes, generous gifts, gentle support, grace, and understanding toward the school staff and my family as Kyla went through all the difficult seasons of pregnancy and delivery. We are so humbled to receive the blessing of another child.
Here are a few items to be aware of:
Concerning the Headmaster Position: I want to give thanks to Nolan Pastoor for fulfilling headmaster duties with excellence over the past several weeks. Moving forward, I will be acting as headmaster for the remainder of this year, so please feel free to contact me with any school related matters. My email address is ryan@firstbaptistkamloops.org and of course you can always contact the office at fbc@firstbaptistkamloops.org. Nolan will continue to be seen around the school to a certain extent to assist me and ensure that your children are well looked after, even if I’m occupied with different matters. Nolan will be here at the school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00-12:00. Kyla will continue to teach her Greek 1 class as well as oversee several administrative duties in preparation for next year.
Progress Reports: Progress Reports will be going home on Thursday. Please remind you child that grades are a personal and private matter. They should not be sharing this information with anyone outside of their family. Additionally, this is a time for students to reflect on their work and behavior. We must not hold grades as trophies or idols, but simply as tools to help indicate areas where we are doing well or perhaps need to be more diligent. These midterms are a current snapshot of where the student is at in their studies.
No School: Please take note that there will be no school on Friday, May 21st or Monday May 24th. Friday is a professional development day and Monday of course is Victoria Day. I pray that your family will be able to enjoy the break and spend some precious time together.
Field Trips: We are currently in the midst of developing plans for each learning group (Greek and Latin) to take a field trip during the month of June. We will be sending information home no later than early next week. We will be needing help to transport all of our students to their destinations, so please be looking for that information.
In Christ,
Ryan Bleyenberg
