January 26th, Headmaster Email
I hope you have all been enjoying the beginning of 2024. The end of this week marks the halfway point of the school year. Time passes so quickly.I wanted to remind you that we need sick students to stay home until they recover. Over the last few months, we have seen a significant increase in sick children and teachers. The classroom is for the sharing of knowledge, not viruses. Please show love and care for our school by keeping sick children home!
There are no exceptions to the guidelines in our Parent-Student Handbook. I have copied the relevant portions below. You must pick up your students promptly if they become sick in class.
GUIDELINES FOR KEEPING SICK CHILDREN HOME
Colds: Please keep your child at home if he/she has a fever over 100 degrees, or is experiencing discomfort that would interfere with his/her ability to perform in school (i.e. uncontrollable coughing, severe lack of energy, etc.).
Diarrhea/Vomiting: A child with diarrhea and/or vomiting should stay at home and return to school only after being symptom-free for 24 hours.
Fever: The child should remain at home with a fever greater than 100 degrees. The child can return to school after he/she has been fever free for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medicine such as Tylenol or Advil).I appreciate your cooperation!
