January 19th, Headmaster Email
Hasn't the sunshine been great this week? The students have been enjoying all of their time outside and today I even joined in their fun with a game of soccer. It has been a nice boost for what can typically be a January drudge.
Here's a few things for you to be aware of this week:
You may have heard whisperings of an ice skating field trip from your children. If the weather continues to be this warm, of course we won't be able to; but, we would like to plan towards it for the afternoons of February 1st (grades K-1 and 7-8)) and February 3 (grades 2-6) for the outdoor rink in Westsyde. We will work together to ensure everyone has skates but each child will need their own helmet. We will also need drivers for both days. If you are able to drive, please email me back to let me know which day. Permission forms will go home by the end of this week.
Student absences need to be reported to the office by 8:00 AM either by a phone call to 250-828-6222 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org . Please do not only inform the classroom teacher nor text Elysha's personal cell. We need to communicate through the official channels so nothing is missed.
Forms and payment for the next two hot lunches are due back Friday.
Purdy's Chocolate Fundraiser
Chocolate bars for your family to sell will go home on Friday, along with a letter explaining this fundraiser. If you would prefer not to participate in this, please let the office know and we will not send the chocolate bars home with your child.
On the note of fundraisers, I would like to draw your attention to our new outside benches and garbage can as well as the new water fountain! These are items which have been purchased with the money earned through the fundraisers.Thank you to everyone who has participated and assisted with these!
