Headmaster Email - Field Trips

Hello parents,

Next week our students will be going on some class field trips and I just wanted to share the details with you to ensure that we are all on the same page. Permission forms for these field trips went home on Monday and need to be back at the school tomorrow.

Kindergarten to Grade 5 classes will be going to Westsyde Centennial Park on Tuesday, June 20th. If you are not familiar with this park, it has a little bit of everything; playground, splash park, baseball field, soccer field, lots of trees for shade and even a petting zoo. Each class will get a turn to go down to the petting zoo to visit the animals and feed the goats. This will be an all day trip, with students arriving back at the school in time for dismissal. Students need to bring the following:

Carseat or booster seat (if required) Their own lunch Water bottle(s) Hat Sunscreen Towel Swimsuit (refer to uniform handbook for guidelines on appropriate swimwear) **Please note, there is nowhere for students to change at the park so please have your child wear their swimsuit under their clothes.

Grade 6 class will be going on a tour of the Residential School at Secwepemc Museum & Heritage in the morning of Tuesday, June 20th, and then joining the younger classes at Westsyde Centennial Park for the remainder of the day. Students are required to bring the following:

Their own lunch Water bottle(s) Hat Sunscreen Towel Swimsuit (refer to uniform handbook for guidelines on appropriate swimwear) **Please note, there is nowhere for students to change at the park so please have your child wear their swimsuit under their clothes.

We do require parent volunteers to help with driving and supervision for the K-6 field trips on Tuesday. If you are available to help, please contact Elysha in the office as soon as possible.

Grade 7/8/9 classes will be walking to the Big Little Science Centre on the morning of Wednesday, June 21st. They will be returning to the school around 11:30am.

In the afternoon of Wednesday, June 21st, the grade 8/9 class will be going to the Oakhills Dyke in Westsyde with Mrs. Claycamp to do some bug collecting in preparation for next year's biology class. Students will be back at the school in time for dismissal. Students are required to bring the following:

Water bottle Hat Sunscreen Bug collecting material

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these trips, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Lastly, please note our last day of school will be on Thursday, June 22nd, and dismissal will be at noon. We look forward to seeing you that evening for Incrementium!

In Christ,

James Casson
