September 8 Headmaster Email

Hello parents, I hope your kids had a great first day! There are just a few items I'd like to communicate this week: Health Forms: Health screening forms are required to come back every morning this week for each student. Filling this out at home and sending with your child will make for an easy drop off. Next week this does not need to be returned to school, but rather is to simply be completed at home. Uniform Reminders: Please return any uniform orders to Shanti at fbcauniform@gmail.com by this Friday. PE Clothes: All students should bring runners for PE and Grades 4 and up will change clothes for PE (If you have not received a school provided t-shirt yet, bring any t-shirt from home). Here's the PE Schedule: Monday: Grades K-1 & Grades 6-7 Wednesday: Grades 2-3 and Grades 4-5 Note for Homeschoolers: Your first day is the 14th! Please email me and let me know whether your children plan to join for lunch (noon) or for the start of class (12:50). Finally, some of you may have noticed that I wasn't around as much as expected today (and word may have already gotten to you!). Proverbs 16:9 tells us, "the heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." The last few months have been full of planning for the return to school, and on the personal front, Pastor Ryan and myself had been feeling pretty set in our plans for family life. But, the Lord in His goodness and soverignty is establishing our steps differently than what we thought... we found out last week that I am going to have a baby! This is, of course, some of the most joyous news anyone can receive, but given my previous difficult pregnancies, it is also a sobering reminder that this is a season to rely on the Lord's strength and the school team He has provided for us. The pastors and I have come together to shift responsibilities to prepare that many mornings, and potentially days, over these next few months, I simply will not be able to be at school. I can say to you with confidence that the teaching team, along with Pastor Joshua, Pastor Ryan, and Elysha will more than make up for the work that I will miss (although we could definitely use some more lunchtime supervisors!). Specifically, Pastor Ryan will be teaching my Greek class, Elysha will handle administrative tasks, and Pastor Joshua will be taking on Headmaster responsibilities such as overseeing arrival and dismissal, school assemblies, and office visits, should they need to occur. Praying for you all, Kyla
